Gallery on Gazebo is coming soon to the Central Park Area in Downtown Johnstown. It will be a place to experience the wonders of tea, meet with friends or colleagues, all while enjoying local art.
Under the umbrella of VISION 2025, more than a dozen Capture teams are investing their talents and energies into projects from agriculture to recreation.
Gallery on Gazebo is a project within the Central Park Square Team. The Goal: to develop a Gallery and Tea Shoppe at 140 Gazebo Place, an 800 square foot destination place, where people can gather, engage and learn. It is a welcoming space, with consigned art and art objects, free and open to the public, hosting exhibits, demonstrations, meetings, and best of all: social engagement. Programs, exhibits and events will be ever-changing and information will be available about other venues in the region.
The Gallery has a non-profit status as a Partner fund at the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies. The Tea Shoppe is a for-profit enterprise, with an owner/operator yet to be named. It will embody the Art of Brewing and Serving tea, with teas and accessories available for sale. It makes for a formidable combination, with an enviable location and an outdoor piazza space contiguous with Penn Highlands Community College new site. Students, shoppers, gawkers, concerts goers or people watchers will make up the visitors.
The owner of the building is offering free rent and utilities for 2 years to the Gallery, and will be assisting in the renovations. The plan for sustainability will include revenue from sales and rent from the Tea Shoppe. Renovations will be dependent on In-kind services, grants and donations.Come see what we have to offer!
